8/9/2009: Reading & Family

I’m opting for a new theme this week that’s going to allow me to cheat & take a break for a bit… photographing photos. Hopefully it’ll revive me a bit.

This photo is an absolute favorite. It’s my cousin Bess & me, with our grandma, at “the farm” reading together. Since I was very young, my family has instilled in me a love of learning and an especially deep love of books & reading. Books are a regular part of any family gathering. Bess & I notably almost always would have a book tucked close by that we had already started. Playing together as kids, it was more than once based on Narnia. Every Christmas I would receive at least one book… usually from one of my two aunts. We still always talk books when we are together… what we are reading, what we have read, what we should be reading. My love of books is a huge, huge part of who I am… and it comes from my family. In my mind books and family go hand in hand.
